    We had some xbox service alerts around this time where a lot of things coming from our store was ineffective. Always check our

    Xbox live service status page.     Sometimes the issue is on our side, that suite is how you can tell if you need to t/s your system.

    This may sound like a silly question, but do you wait a long enough time for the Xbox to reboot after it turns off? Sometimes it takes a little while and you just need to be patient and see if it works. It's happened to me before but it sorted itself out.
    Also, I would recommend testing your Xbox Live connection, you could have a fault somewhere that is affecting the update.
