I can't unmute my friend

Yesterday was messing about in party chat and I attempted to mute one of y friends cause he was talking too much. it didn't mute him to begin with and I thought nothing of it. Today when I joined his party I couldn't hear him because
he is muted. I can't unmute him for some reason. its not greyed out as if I can't do anything, its just whenever I go to unmute it gives me the noise that I have done the action, but it doesnt unmute him. I have tried hard reset, unmuting on his main profile,
blocking and re-adding him, muting someone else in the party a couple of times, and muting the party itself. None of this works. it has to be a thing on Microsofts end because I have done all I can do. until its fixed I guess I wont talk to him, didn't like
him much anyway.

Can't hear my friends

I can't hear my friend in parties. I have tried unmuting him from his game card but nothing works, I cant unmute my friend please help!!!!

Hi there!

This was an issue being looked into by the engineers but should be resolved at this time.

If you are still running into issues be sure to power down the console, unplug it for 5 minutes, then power it back on and check again.

Post back and let us know how that goes!

We understand that you are trying to unmute your friend that you accidentally blocked so you can hear them in the game. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

To isolate this issue, we would like to ask for few questions:

May we confirm if you can send messages fine to your friend?
Are your teammates hearing the friend you cannot unmute?
In what platform are you both placing games with - Xbox Console or Xbox app for PC?

Yeah it's happening to me and my friends, im also having a problem where I can't hear my friends even when they're unmuted.

I also have this issue and so does my son. He has a friend and his friend is unable to unmute him. He didn't place him on mute in the first place. He tries to unmute on his friends list but it just reverts back. I have his friend on my list and he is muted
under my account....through choice

. But I too can't unmute him now. Tried on my friends list, reverts back to muted. Tried by going under my profile, going to following, selecting muted, unmuting him there.....still the same.

Anybody got any ideas? Could Fortnite have anything to do with it? Tried going in to party, then going to in game chat, leaving it for 10 secs, going back to party and unmuting. Has worked for some....not for me. Please, help me. my son won't stop moaning
about it. Is it something that just resolves itself or is that it?
