I can’t send or receive party & game invite

Me and my friend were going to play some rainbow six siege. But he couldn’t invite me to a party or the game, and I could not Do the same for him. I don’t know what to do with this point. We have soft reset it a couple times, and power cycled our Xbox’s a few times as well. And even took our accounts off and put them back on.

There was a service outage of some sort affecting consoles and ability to receive invites etc...should be resolved:

I have been trouble shooting trying to send my friend an invite to both party and game for over an hour now and I looked at my Xbox live gold subscription and even upgraded it to ultimate just a few moments ago this is so annoying I just want to play some games with friends and nothing works

I came to ask this exact same question. I can't get game invites, party invites - nothing. But the chat function works just fine? I'm on Game Pass Ultimate as well.
