I can't send messages to any of my friend on xbox live

1. What happens when you try to send a message via the console?

2. If you're seeing any specific error messages, can you include a picture of those messages in your reply?

3. If you try sending a message to a friend using the Xbox App or through Xbox.com , do you see any difference?

4. So we don't retrace anything, can you let us know what specific steps you've already tried?

I'm experiencing this same issue. they have the status update showing it's fixed, but still can't send any messages. I see my friends list and my messages, but every time I try to send a message, I get any error message "Your message could not be sent".
I thought this was fixed? I keep checking Xbox Live Status and still they're pretending it's fixed and not even bothering to update it.

I can't seem to send any messages to anyone on my Friends list. Connected issue?

Sorry to hear that you're unable to send messages. Let's have you power cycle your Xbox One if you haven't already first.
It might also be necessary to reset your router/modem as well.
