I cant see my active quest called homecoming so I'm think my game is bugged or glitched how...

I understand how patches would fix weapon plaques and things that have active/inactive states, but do you think there is any hope in a patch somehow restoring my main questline? I can also see how patches can fix freezing and bugs that are happening in currently
active quests, but can it goes as far as to restore a quest that seems to be completely missing? After some research, it seems my bug is because I had killed Dirge in the Ragged Flagon, but even with him revived, the game does nothing to acknowledge that the
main storyline is active.

I'm asking because I have a save file that is before this bug, but it is 30 hours behind my current playthrough, so I'm unsure whether to keep playing my most recent file and wait for a patch or just continue on my older save file to be safe. It would be
a shame to waste any more time on a save file that might have no hope of getting fixed.

honsetly you will probably see more bugs without any of the patches. i personally havent had but one misc. quest stick in my quest list on one 130 hr playthrough and not a single glitch on my second playthrough with 115 hours,

save often and you shouldnt have many problems (some game freezing happens and imo dont think of it as a glitch)

I wonder if that's why I can't find him and they add weight to my inventory... because something has happened to the quest. I can unmark every active quest open except that one and I still don't get an arrow pointing to Arniel. Hmmm.... well, I wouldn't
have a problem with this glitch if it would just let me drop the damn cogs but for some reason.... I can't. Oh well.... thanks for the advice. I think I'm just going to start over. Level 57 or not.... I'm just too frustrated by these glitches. I'll be
far more selective about activating quests in my next outting, that's for sure. One at a time.... no exploring.... no dungeons unless I'm directed to one.... wow, all of a sudden this game seems so linear...LOL, at least it's fun.
