I cant play xbox anywhere game on pc

Ive been wanting to play shadow of war on pc it has the play anywhere tag i own it on xbox but it wont let me install the game i have to rebuy it why is it doing this

Are you pertaining to "Middle-earth: Shadow of War"? If yes, I can confirm that it is an Xbox Play Anywhere game which means that you just need to make sure that you're signed in under the correct Microsoft account where the game was purchased.

Please sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders, from there locate the game order transaction, it should be stated as "completed". Once you were able to locate the game order, make sure that you're signed in under that account both on Xbox App and Microsoft Store App.

if u mean Streaming Xbox one games on PC using xbox app then no u cant, controller in mandatory.

if its a play anywhere title & u've downloaded it on PC, playing on PC then yes u can.

I dont think Minecraft is in Ultimate Game Pass or Play Anywhere on PC.... i just had a look on the Xbox (Beta) app on PC and i cant find it.... but you can get it from the Microsoft store on PC and buy it...

PC Game Pass is mainly PC only games, but there are a few exceptions. These games would be Xbox Play Anywhere games, which mean you can play on PC and Xbox. Remember that the games that are on PC Game Pass and are part of Xbox Play Anywhere can be played on the console.

What particular games are you talking about?

There are "Xbox Play Anywhere" titles, which are released both on Xbox One and PC. So if you buy it once on Xbox One or PC, you can play it on both.

However, not all Xbox games are "Play Anywhere" titles. A list of
Play Anywhere games that work both on Xbox and Windows 10 PC is here.

If it's not a Play Anywhere title, you won't be able to play that Xbox game on your PC. And Play Anywhere also only works as a download. You can't use the Xbox disc on your PC to play the game.

As for compatibility with modern Joysticks: As long as the game supports DirectInput (which almost all modern games use), you should be good.
