I can't play with friend on Minecraft Windows 10

Hello! I bought today Minecraft on Windows 10. I wanted to play with friend in his world. During the load there was a message: "can not connect: server is out of date" Does anyone have an idea how to fix it? Internet access and Xbox live is. We don't play
trough LAN.

Have you checked the server connectivity on the Xbox App found under Settings>Network?

Minecraft Java edition is not cross-play enabled. You would need Minecraft for Windows 10 to play with friends on other platforms.

Im having a similar issue. I purchased Minecraft for windows 10 on my desktop so i could play with my friend who has a switch. Im now in college with a laptop and when i go into the same Microsoft account it is not in my library. however a game like Forza
Horizon 4 is? i went to the Xbox companion app and indeed it shows when i last played Minecraft for windows 10 as this Microsoft account but i can't download it on this laptop.

Sorry to hear you're having issues playing Minecraft with your friend between console and pc. Does your friend have the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft?
