I can't play the games online

That is the correct link for information and instructions on changing your privacy settings.

To change your account permissions, sign into Privacy and online safety page for your account.

Select the gamertag for the account you want to update, customise privacy settings for the account, then select submit.

Make sure to select submit, when finished, as this will confirm and save any changes.

Alternatively you can change these settings on your console.

From the xbox guide, go to Profile and System > Account > Privacy and online safety > Xbox live privacy.

The exact options you’ll need to allow are: ‘You can join multiplayer games’ and ‘You can play with people outside xbox live’ under ‘Communication and multiplayer’.

Please perform a power cycle reset, follow these steps:

Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

Restart your Xbox console. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox controller to open the Power Center. Select Restart console and then select Restart. (If the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button  on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart.)

After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

This doesn't help with my situation. Nothing I can do to change my settings so I can play with my friends on Minecraft which should be a game that EVERYONE should have multiplayer compatibility but for some reason, I can't do it. The game says I need realm
which is fine, but apparently my settings are messed up and I can't change it. I'm 17 fresh out of high school and a man can't play Minecraft with the boys when my birthday almost coming up. My account shouldn't be labeled as "child" When I'm a grown person
