I can't play the game I put 65 euros into

Hello,

I can't download my game anymore

I bought Sea of Thieves years ago when it was 60 euros on the Microsoft Store, and a while back when I wanted to get back into the game it told me that there was an error when I tried to start the download.

It gives me the error code: 0x803F8001

I've looked up what this could be and I tried different solutions but nothing seems to work. It appears that the problem started when my old school email got deleted, but my Sea of Thieves account doesn't have anything to do with my school account, and I was logged into the right account when I bought and played the game before, I even have proof of purchase on my account.

At first I had the game and when I tried to start it it said there was a problem with my account but that was a while back and now it just gives me an error when trying to acquire a license.

I've tried resetting the Windows Store and that didn't help,

I tried to turn off my anti-malware

I tried uninstalling the game

I tried turning on some services in my PC

There is no way of calling Microsoft anymore and nothing and nobody has been able to help me yet so now I'm trying over here.

Edit: I just tried installing something else on the Microsoft Store and that gives the same error code.

If you haven't already, I would like you to troubleshoot the issue by running the Windows Update Troubleshooter for Windows 10 (microsoft.com), then follow the steps mentioned here => How to perform a clean boot in Windows (microsoft.com).

If the issue persists, it would be best to get in touch with the online support to investigate further because they are the only ones capable of checking the account from their end. You can't call the support, but you can access Contact us | Xbox Support, follow the instructions after clicking on the green button "Contact us" and choose to get help either from an online chat agent or request a callback. Make sure the region on the support website is set to your correct region in order not to find issues with the steps. The proof of purchase you have mentioned will be very important through the process so make sure you have it ready if the Online agent asks for it.

I bought this junk for 65 euro and when I tried to trade it in I was only offered 35 euro. Gamestop wouldn't take it back when I told them. All they would do is swap it for another copy.

then Tell them you want to Return it and not trade it in.... I believe EU laws regulations require places to take returns even if open under a reasonable time frame and obviously isn't an abused item

It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't delete my progress a few times and just randomly return me to the home screen. What a waste of 65 euro.
