I cant play sea of thieves anymore?

Sea of thieves decided to uninstall itself for some reason over night, making it so that I cant play Sea of Thieves today due to the long download time.

If I buy Sea of Thieves on Steam, can I play with the same account as on the xbox app version? That way I wont need to deal with the Xbox app or its version of Sea of Thieves.

We understand that you're having trouble playing Sea of Thieves after updating the game. According to the Sea of Thieves support page, there are several possible solutions to this issue. Let us go ahead and work on this together in a timely manner.

Regarding the issue we have, it's actually possible that the issue is related to your account. However, since you cannot sign in the account on the game, it's possible that the game may have been uninstalled or removed from your account for some reason.

To better understand our concern, I will be asking you few questions:

1. Is the issue presented to only this game?
   
2. What device are we using to play the game?
   
3. What are the steps you have done so far?
   

While waiting for the response, you can try to check this, please follow these steps:

• Open the Microsoft Store app on your Xbox console.
  
• Search for Sea of Thieves in the search bar.
  
• If the game appears, select it and see if it says "Install" or "Buy". If it says "Install", then the game is still installed on your console, and you should be able to play it. If it says "Buy", then the game has been removed from your account and you will need to purchase it again.
  

If the game is still installed on your console but you're still having trouble playing it, you may need to try some troubleshooting steps. Here are a few things you can try:

• If you are playing the game in console device:
  
  • Restart your console: Sometimes simply restarting your console can help to resolve issues like this.
    
  • Clear your console's cache: To do this, hold down the power button on your console for 10 seconds until it turns off. Then unplug the power cable from the back of the console and wait 10 seconds before plugging it back in and turning the console back on.
    
  • Check for updates: Make sure that your console and the game are both fully up to date with the latest updates and patches.
    
• If you are playing the game in windows:
  
  • Check for updates: Make sure your Windows Operating system is up to date. To check for updates, press the Windows key, type in "Check for Updates" and select "Check for Updates".
    
  • Login to Windows with a local Admin Account: This fixes the majority of cases reported. Try logging into Windows with a local Admin account.
    
  • Reset your copy of Sea of Thieves: Uninstall the game, press the Windows key, type in ''wreset'', right click and select "run as administrator". Once complete, perform a system reboot. Press the Windows key, reinstall the game (Please install the game to your C drive), type in "apps and features", find Sea of Thieves on the list, select "Advanced Options", and select "Reset".
    
  • Update graphics drivers: When your graphic drivers are either not up to date or suffering from some form of corruption, this can also cause the crash while booting.

Actually i bought it for a month to play sea of thieves and i dont want to use it anymore so if i cant use my subscription it is fine for me i just want to learn whether i will have to pay it or not

If you're trying to play the Xbox Insider version of Sea of Thieves, then be aware that this was the closed Beta before the game launched.

Unless they added an Insider Version after I checked two days ago, you can't play that version, as the servers don't accept the Sea of Thieves Beta client anymore.

You will have to buy the actual game, or have an active Game Pass subscription to be able to play Sea of Thieves.
