    I can't play multiplayer with xbox live gold.


    Hey guys, never posted before. Just wondering if anyone can help. I have bought xbox live gold and whilst the subscription is all good and I can purchase games etc. I cannot play in multiplayer. It says that I am 'not allowed' and only allows local play.
    I have looked for hours at different strategies and, restarting, power cycle, remove and add profile etc is not working. Any help or tips would be much appreciated. The server is all good and my multiplayer test came back as working. I also made sure all my
    privacy settings etc. were on allow and everybody.

    You can't play multiplayer with a free membership. You need to buy an Xbox live gold membership to play online.

    To Play online multiplayer you should have an Xbox Live Gold Subscription.Free members can't play online multiplayer by design..That is the reason for which you are getting that Error.

    I also have the same problem. Bought the Xbox One X on release day, i used the 14 day Xbox Live Gold code on the same day and i still can't play Multiplayer. I can download the Xbox live gold games of the month like you can but when i go into multiplayer
    in a game it says i don't have a Gold subscription and it takes me back to the store where it says Xbox Live Gold expires on 11/21/2017. So it must be active but i can't use it :/

    Hi. No, every platform have own rules. Xbox rule and feature is Xbox LIVE GOLD. And without Xbox LIVE Gold you can't play multiplayer games. That's all. Although Xbox LIVE Gold is not an obligation to buy. This is completely voluntary. But without Gold
    you don't have several features unlocked.
