    I can't play Minecraft on Xbox online, even with proper account settings


    Me and my friend have been wanting to play Minecraft for a bit now, issue is that we can't play right next to each other, as we don't live in the same areas. We tried setting up an online world together, and it works with her, but with me it just says "You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft Account is set up. Please ensure your online safety settings allow Multiplayer. See instructions for changing these settings at aka.ms/MCMultiplayerHelp."

    My settings are correct and have been correct when I set up my Xbox account.

    I thought we found a workaround by friending each other and then joining through the Xbox Menu, but then it takes me to pay for Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass, and I don't want to spend any money on special deals. Then it gives me an error saying I couldn't join. Is it that I'm required to pay to play online, or is something wrong with my Xbox?

    That is outrageous! I just bought Minecraft for 30 dollars for my Xbox and I can't even access the full game even though the card says full game?! I should be allowed to play multiplayer after buying the full game. This is horrid

    In order to access gaming online or play online/multiplayer on Xbox, you must have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

    I have the same issue, I bought Minecraft for my sister under 13, created an Xbox account for her and she can't even login into the game, only the web web browser, there's no settings we can change into her account because she can't login in the game itself,
    only in the browser, and she can't play online at all

    ...He's playing on Minecraft. He does not need to sing in to play this. I suppose you mean log in and out from Microsoft account? Because if he's not logged in Microsoft account he still can play...
    There should be an option to sign into his Microsoft Account in the Minecraft Game.

    Without being signed in on his Microsoft Account in Minecraft, the game can't apply the online and privacy settings you set up in order to allow him to play online.

    If he's only playing locally on his own device, he can play without a Microsoft Account. But in order to play online on Realms or Servers, he needs to be signed in on this very device in the Minecraft Game.
