    The back of the box shows 1 player and xbox live. In the description it states xbox live maybe required for set up and some updates and features.

    Make sure you own the game or check for your home xbox if you sharing account whit friends

    The Rockstar Social Club records certain achievements in the game, even in the single player campaign (e.g. if you managed to achieve Gold in a certain mission).

    This requires an online connection.

    Yeah unfortunately a lot of games out nowadays require an XBOX Live connection to play. I try to make sure of the requirements before I buy any games. I hate hidden surprises... :)
