I can't name or rename custom game variants on MCC Xbox one

First, welcome to the Xbox community. Apparently, it may be a problem with the game, but I found a topic on REDDIT that points to a possible solution to this problem, please try the procedure below.

''In the main menu, click your name/profile. Go to player details, then click file share.

There you will see 3 boxes labeled Game Types, Map Variants, and Films. When you click one of these tabs, you have to hit select closer to the bottom of the screen to open them.

In-Game Types and Map Variants you will see three more tabs: Temporary Files, Private Files, and Shared Files.

Temporary Files are where you will find recently played maps, including custom browsers, and Private Files are ones you have saved.

To save a map/game type, simply click the one you want, and hit save to the right of the browse menu. Then you can go into forge/custom game and edit it to your liking and save/rename to make it your own, stored in private files.''

It almost work. When I rename the folder and play the game again, I'm able to play beyond the Tutorial. But when I rename the folder to the original name I can't play it beyond the tutorial.

For anyone else that might experience this, one cause of this may be if you renamed your Xbox.

an update reset the console name to default.

Simply renaming it back to match what is in the Windows Xbox app may resolve this issue.

it woud be nice if you could change the name in the Windows app, but for some weird reason you can't.

The Original Xbox console came with a name and could be renamed. I remember finding it while playing Dead or Alive. I renamed mine Tiger.

I would love to rename my One.

thread is fail, Annex got renamed to KOTH, because that's what it actually was, a KOTH variant, and it was immensely more popular than straight up KOTH.
