I can't log into my old school email which i need for xbox

Please can you confirm that your account is still active?

If not, you will need to speak to your school to see if they are able to recover it so you can sign in and change the email address connected to your account.

Also - although one email account (my main one) is listed under my son's gamer tag on his xbox, my OLD email address comes up on the Xbox when he tries to log in and can't and when it prompts us to verify the address... which is mad as I haven't had that old email address for 4 years....

Well, I don't need to change my gamertag for my new (accidentally) created account. I just need to log back into my old xbox account.

And if I try to use my old gamertag, it says that it's already used. Trying to add a # makes it say that I need to have 12 characters or less.

My email doesn't access 2 accounts, it only accesses the new one and I can't log back into my old one.

Update: I found an old laptop that was still logged into the main account with the old, removed email address. Sea of Thieves launches without issue, pretty much confirming something is wrong with the email swap.

However, it now won't let me re-add the old email address, saying "You can't add a school or work email". Any advice?

Edit: One more thing. When I try to log into the Microsoft store, it offers two accounts, both with the same (my personal) email address. The first one gives me the error "We encountered an error. Please try signing in again later." while also offering to email a code to the email address that I removed. The other logs in successfully, but the game still won't launch.

My son signed up for an Xbox subscription with his middle school email, which is no longer available, and we've just been charged $60 for his annual membership, which we thought was cancelled.

We have no way to get into this old email to log into his Microsoft account, and I've spent an hour trying to connect to a human being to suspend this subscription. It's absolutely outrageous that there is no phone or email support without logging in first (we can't log in, which is the heart of the problem). I've even tried calling the number Microsoft provided my credit card when it made the charge and it's bogus. Go ahead and try calling it: (425) 681-6830.

How can there be no way that you can provide a person to cancel this subscription? There has to be a way for Microsoft to provide better service than this. Please help.
