    I can't log into a multiplayer server using MS account


    I'm having a bit of trouble with the Minecraft for MS. I can log into the launcher, launch the game, but when I try to join my own server, it says it can't be found. Meanwhile, at the same time, I can see and log into the server using my old Mojang account. Also, my single player worlds are not listed in the MS account version. What am I doing wrong?

    Minecraft for Windows, as it is, cannot be used on Xbox consoles. However, Minecraft for Windows is essentially Minecraft Bedrock Edition, which is the same edition used on Xbox consoles. That's why, for example, the Realms in Minecraft for Windows are the same as Minecraft Bedrock for Xbox consoles. In contrast, Minecraft Java Edition Realms are exclusive to PC and only accept Java Edition players.

    This is why most servers, even if they are third-party, have the same player compatibility system. It's highly likely that the server you're trying to access is intended for the Java version of Minecraft. That's why it doesn't allow you to log in from the Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock) edition, while it does allow access from the Java edition of the game.

    It's essential to clarify that "Minecraft for Windows" refers to Minecraft Bedrock, but that's how Mojang decided to name it on the PC platform, which can lead to confusion.

    I'm having a problem with Minecraft for Windows. Java Edition is working just fine. The server, and thus my client, are using 1.20.1. I'm using the 1.20.1 Optifine as well. Thank you for taking the time to help!

    It seems to me that possibly the problem is more focused on the compatibility of the server with the edition of Minecraft you use. Minecraft Java Edition servers do not accept Minecraft Bedrock players, or vice versa. It is the same thing that happens with Minecraft Realms, for example. There are separate Realms for each edition of the game for the simple fact that both editions are different and not compatible with each other.
