I can't install grounded via the xbox app or the microsoft store

I bought gamepass to play grounded with my friends. I went to the microsoft store to download the game but it didn't allow me to install. The option to install is there but when i click on it it grays out and then goes back to the green button. So then i tried downloading via the xbox app but there is just a sad face. My friend had kind of the same problems but different from mine. He and i tried to find solutions to try and solve this but we couldn't find anything that helped. We then both considered resetting our computers and look if that worked. For my friend it worked but i'm still having problems and can't install the game. I'm having a horrible time trying to call support and can't really find a way to contact them personally. I hope someone knows how i can fix this because i'm getting the feeling that i just wasted my money on something i can't even use the way i wanted to use it.

So i tried the powershell command and deleted those files you mentioned, restarted after that and when i opened the microsoft store to try and download the game it worked for like 3 seconds and it was actually downloading the game but then it stopped and gave the error "Something happened on our end." for both the game download and the Gaming Services.

Sorry about that, jbWE. We can try some steps that might help. Select Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features. Find the App named "Gaming Services" then select the Advanced options link under the name of the app (some apps don't have this option). On the page that opens, select Reset. Do the same with Xbox app and MS store then reboot your PC.

After that press WIN+R (Windows logo key + R) , Enter "services.msc", find "Gaming Services", stop the service and then start it back again.

Have you tried reinstalling the gaming services? Kindly check if you have any pending updates using this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo... or select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates.

If there's nothing pending, kindly right-click the Start button on your taskbar, and then select Windows Terminal (Admin). In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:

Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage

Kindly also delete all files in C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Local\Packages \Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache, and then reboot your pc.

This will only rescan all your downloaded files in just a few minutes. .

Have you checked if you can install other games aside from grounded to see if your game pass is working?

Please try to reset/ repair Xbox app and MS store again then clear Xbox app cache. Right-click on the Start icon or press Win + X to open the Power User menu.

Select Installed apps from the list.

Scroll down to locate the Xbox app on the list.

Click the three-dot menu icon next to it and select Advanced options.

Scroll down to the Reset section and click on Repair.

Reboot your PC then open File Explorer using the Windows key + E shortcut.

In the address bar paste the following line:

%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\TokenBroker

If there are Accounts and Cache folders available make sure that you delete them. After removing the cache, try to start the Xbox app again.
