I can't install games from Microsoft store on my D drive

Discus and support I can't install games from Microsoft store on my D drive in XBoX on Windows to solve the problem; So I've just bought Sea Of Thieves and would like to install it on my D: drive, because my C: drive is a pretty small SSD where I don't have enough...     I can't install games from Microsoft store on my D drive


    So I've just bought Sea Of Thieves and would like to install it on my D: drive, because my C: drive is a pretty small SSD where I don't have enough space left, but when clicking on Install and choosing the install location, it just doesn't do anything.

    So basically, I click on the blue "Install" button after having chosen my D: drive, and nothing happens, I can keep clicking on the button, and nothing happens. Installing it on the C: drive works flawlessly though.

    I tried to change where new content is saved but I have an error the error code is 0x80070005

    pls help I really want to play with my friends and because of this problem I can't.

    Have done as instructed, and now the xbox store can't seem to find my D Drive at all. When I go to install the game, it only lists the other drive, which is too small.

    Games will intall onto my C drive (the drive that has WIndows installed onto it), but now I can't choose to install games onto my D or E drive, because I deleted the WPsystem folders.

    Thanks for the reply. When I go to download a game from the Microsoft store it asks me to select a drive. I do and it says installing for about 30 seconds to a minute and then nothing happens. I did this with two games. Trying to download them from both the Xbox app and the Microsoft store, There's nothing wrong with my laptop because I can download games from steam perfectly fine. In the settings games are set to download in my D drive which has plenty of space. Also saving things like pictures also works perfectly fine.

    Hi,

    You can't transfer space from D drive to C drive because these drives are a separate physical storage devices. You should be able to install games directly to the D:\ drive. You can move installed games and apps between drives though.

    You'll need to free up some storage from your C:\ drive soon, either by moving games and apps to your D:\ drive or uninstalling unused apps or games from the C:\ drive. If you don't free up storage you won't be able to update your Windows installation.

    This guide explains how to move games to different drives. How you move them depends what system the game was installed with (Xbox App, Steam, Epic), but all the main one's are included here.
