I can’t get the original Xbox game, Knights of the old republic, to run on my 360.

I wish this was the case but my hard drive is an official Microsoft branded one. Idk what else to do

It's likely because the hard drive you're using on the Xbox 360 isn't an official Microsoft hard drive. Only official Xbox hard drives from MS will allow you to run original Xbox games made backwards compatible on the 360 platform.

Original Xbox games won't run on a 360 if:

• You don't have an internal hard drive
• Your internal drive is not official - knock off hard drives from eBay and Amazon won't run original games.
• Your 360 hard drive is faulty

Try downloading the game. I haven't tried on a 360 but you can download games you do not own from the Microsoft store and then run them if the disc is in.

Xbox 360 original Xbox BC requires an official working hard drive. This applies to discs and downloads.

How do you know it's official? Note that All Xbox 360 hard drives will say 'Microsoft' in the system settings menu on the Xbox 360 console. Also many drives you can buy online will have fake Microsoft branding on them.

I can only suggest you try some other BC Xbox games on your 360, if none of them load then either your 'official drive' is faulty or your drive isn't official.
