To enourage people to get gamepass ultimate instead of regular gold or gamepass. Ultimate is a much better value in the long run. That's why i was saying if you use Microsoft Rewards, then it'll be easier to renew ultimate at pretty much the same price as gold using the points.

I agree it has been getting worse lately but they are also free so u cant expect too much. Upgrade to gamepass ultimate to get a better selection of games. I think regular xbox live gold is being phased out to only gamepass ultimate eventually ne way
