I can't get my TV to recognize the Xbox Series X/HDMI cord

I just plugged my Series X in for the first time and I can't get it to connect to the TV with the cord given. I tried using another HDMI cord I had lying around and it works for that. So do I have a faulty cable or is there some other issue?

Ok I got it to work switched TVs and Hdmi cords my 3rd cord. Everything world now but my external hard drive it will not recognize it ?!!!!! wtf it's like a month old

I'm having the same issue. My older Xbox was used on a Standard TV last, and now i can't get it to work with the HDMI switch on the component cable. Works with a HDMI cord though, but that's for my other xbox

The Xbox Series X will come with a HDMI 2.1 cable,

But whether you use a HDMI 2.1 cable or not, the HDMI port on the TV needs to be HDMI 2.1 to achieve the 120hz refresh rates at 4K.

using a HDMI 2.1 cable on a TV port with HDMI 2.0 will still only limit the Xbox Series X to 60hz refresh rates.
