I can't get Java edition with my Bedrock edition

    I can't get Java edition with my Bedrock edition


    I have Minecraft Bedrock edition for pc & when I try to get my free copy java edition it doesn't say "get" like it says it should it says "buy". In the launcher it shows play/install for bedrock but buy for java. Its the right Microsoft account that I used to buy bedrock on the Microsoft store it says I purchased it on the same account in 2021.

    I have already tried uninstalling/reinstalling, restarting my computer & resetting the Xbox and Microsoft store. I also tried downloading the launcher from each place available for download and it still didn't work. I would really like to not have to buy the game again when I should have a full copy. Is their anything else I can do to get this to work?

    I can't claim minecraft Java Edition even tho I have Bedrock edition for Windows 10

    I only have bedrock edition for Windows 10 not java. It says I need to buy Java edition even tho I have bedrock Windows 10 edition. Why can't I claim it it should been available for a long time now

    No. The java and bedrock edition are completely separate from eachother so if you want the java edition you will have to purchase it

    Also again my order history will NOT say I purchased Minecraft because I did not. As stated before, I got minecraft bedrock because Mojang gave a free code to redeem Bedrock for all Mojang users that purchased Java Edition before a certain date see article below:

    Minecraft: java and bedrock edition bundle doesn't let me install bedrock edition.

    My brother got the java +bedrock bundle but he simply did not get java edition.

    No, you needed to have owned bedrock edition or java edition on PC to get one either. Java edition is only available on PC too.
