Sorry for the confusion. It is a sample scenario for account recovery of personal account and work/school account. Your account is a personal one that makes you, as the account owner, the only person to access and recover it. On the other hand, school or work accounts are created by an IT admin and that makes it recoverable by the IT.

That means, no one here can recover your account aside from you.

Please try to recover your account. Alternatively, please reach out to the support of your phone to have it fixed. That way, you only get to use your Microsoft account password and phone number text verification instead of account recovery form.

Account recovery is firstly done when security information is active and in use. Here if the account security information like phone number is inaccessible, you will be recovering the account through Microsoft account recovery form.

There are questions you have posted here, which answers are required for clarification of the matter.

For example a question asked if I'd used any money on my account, I've used gift cards only but there was no option for that, instead I was asked to give in credit card details even though I used gift cards only.

Or another example that asked me to put 3 passwords I've used, however I've only used 1 so question wromg again.

Since the account is managed by you personally, you may skip those questions that you cannot provide the details as it is inapplicable to you however, you may also state the details if it is applicable.

Once again, I know it's my responsibility to change the password but isn't it Microsoft's responsibility to make everything fair?

I get the quiz is automatic and can not simply be overrided but can't Microsoft at least update it?

To ensure that everything is fair, no one here in Microsoft community can recover an account. Personal accounts like yours is managed by you. While account that can recovered by other person is most likely to be paying the account like school or work which admin can change an account password and recover it.

You may use a recognized device and location to fill out the form. Provide your one and only account password. The SkypeID (if using) and Xbox Console hardware ID.

You may select or filled out the form to what is closest to the memory you can recall with the account. So I tried the quiz again and it was denied again.

I can't recover the old numbers because the phones were broken and then were thrown away.

Also I'm having trouble with another question now. The question asked which Xbox I used the most, I used a series s. Sadly there was just no option for that as it only gave me the option for Xbox One or Xbox 360.

I'm also curious of what I should do on the question that asked about any other passwords I've used.

There's no specification to say that I've only used 1 password and the question asks for 3.

I'm starting to lose hope each time the quiz denies me, any advice?
