I can’t get a refund or my game that I payed for!

I preordered for a game on Xbox digitally and accidentally purchased the wrong version but it’s past the refund date but they said that I had to buy the right version before they could give me my refund. Does that sound right or even legal? I just want the game I payed for and not have to buy the game again. They won’t give me the credit to correct it either and I’m really annoyed because I just want the game.

I just want to let you know that is not necessary to purchase a different game edition before asking for a refund for the wrong purchase

I also want to remind you that there are conditions that makes you eligible for a refund :

"Refunds are typically issued for requests meeting the following criteria:

Requests are made within 14 days of the purchase date

Requests are for games in which you haven’t accumulated a significant amount of play time

Note As a limited exception, digital game products may be eligible for a refund within 30 days if you’re unsatisfied with the license agreement or warranty, but only if you do not make or retain any copies.

Be aware that submitting a request doesn’t guarantee a refund, especially if it doesn’t meet the above criteria."

I’m having this same issue and I can’t refund, I didn’t even receive my purchase either. I can’t pay again because I don’t have enough funds on my Microsoft account. So how am I supposed to get my item.

I can’t even play Warzone because season 3 and now season 4 is doing the same thing. I should get a refund on my battle pass because I can’t even access the damn game to play it!
