i cant find the xbox console companion app. I want to use my laptop as a monitor for my xbox

The console companion has been discontinued along with the rest of windows 8 back in January, You just use the Xbox app built into Windows since 2015

In order to stream from your console to your laptop you must use the Xbox app, on the top left you will see a console icon, there you can associate your console and start streaming the image.

The following image shows which icon I am referring to:

Thank u for replying, but i don't think i can stream my xbox one games on my laptop using Xbox beta app,, I can only see the option on Console companion app :/

Are you minimizing the Xbox console companion app while using to stream your Xbox to it?

Why are you wanting to stream your xbox to the laptop?

Are you running anything else on the laptop whilst trying to stream?

No, I use my xbox for streaming services and I want to be able to use my laptop as a controller to skip to next episode/rewind/select show etc. Used to be able to do this on the companion app but that's being shut down, and the option to do so on the new app isn't there.
