    i cant sign in!!! help!!

    ok, so a while back LIVE sent me a message over xbox live and said that i needed to enter in a security code for my account so no one else could sign in to it. i ignored it. a few days ago i was at my friends house and i couldnt download my account. an error code popped up. now when i try to sign in to xbox live on my computer, it makes me go through all this crap. my email hooked up to xbox live is hotmail and it is microsoft too. i have to enter that stuff in my hotmail account too! Help! I cant enter Live account :eek: I cant enter Live account :confused:

    How to control access to your Xbox LIVE account

    It is possible to restrict access to your Xbox LIVE account by using a pass code, or making it necessary to sign into your Xbox profile using your Microsoft account password.

    Set a pass code

    A pass code is a button sequence on your controller, which you can use to restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile. After you have set the pass code, anyone who wants to sign into Xbox LIVE using your profile must enter the pass code.

    Steps to follow

    1) Under Settings, select Account

    2) Go to Account Security, and then select Pass Code

    3) Enter your four-button code on your controller. You can use the directional pads, the triggers, the bumpers, X and Y.

    4) Re-enter your pass code for confirmation

    The next time you sign in with your Xbox LIVE gamertag, you will be required to enter the pass code.

    If you want to change or reset your pass code, just repeat the above steps. You will be required to enter the old pass code before you can change it.

    I REGISTERED WITH MY WINDOWS LIVE ID AND IT IS ON A XBOX LIVE ACCOUNT AND I HAD TO ENTER A PRODUCT KEY AGAIN IS THAT NORMAL. ALSO I STILL CANT GET INTO THE FORUMS

    This is the most retarted system on the planet. I created a profile on my friends XBOX and have been playing for a few months now before deciding to create an xbox live account. After signing and selected to create an live account I was signed out.... thinking
    that the live account was for the account for the entire system I proceeded with using his mail details (after all it his system). After the signup process was complated I was re-entered into my account now with his details associated to my profile. At no
    point was I warned about this in the prompts!!!!!! Now I have to realise what a load of crap this is to reverse!? I have created my own live account on the PC and still I cant just switch, I cant unassociate, I cant do anything. Someone aught to get fired

    The problem is that the password is unknown so when I enter the account, Microsoft states it cant be found? how can you reset a password when the account cant be found. Therefore, I would like to reset the account email address.

    Thanh you for your response, but how does removing a account and doing a power cycle solve a online problem. You see when entering the code on my account which I already had xbox live gold on it allowed me to confirm but I realised gold wasnt working. But
    now I cant redeem it on another account.
