I cant create a high performance power plan in my windows 11, why is there no high...

I tried high performance and power saving and both didn't work. I have installed the launcher for windows 10/11 but not windows 7/8.1. Do I need the windows 7/8.1 launcher considering my PC is running on Windows 11?

settings - gaming - graphics look for custom options for apps - find the app you want to alter or add it to the list - select the app in the list - select options - select high performance (which will be your gpu), this will stop the game using your low powered integrated graphics.

above is for windows 11 but similar on windows 10 too.

Also, I forgot that it happened before but not often

For the "high performance mode" I cannot actually do that one I can only select the performance mode with FN+Q and also my laptop is Lenovo

What you can try:

1. Set your system to Ultimate or High Performance

Open Settings > System > Power & battery > Power mode

Choose Best performance

Or enable the hidden Ultimate Performance plan via PowerShell:

Then go to Control Panel > Power Options and set it to Ultimate Performance

This reduces background throttling that affects mouse polling.

2. Update USB and chipset drivers manually (not through Device Manager). Head to your motherboard manufacturer’s website and download:

(Optional but helpful) Latest BIOS update. Windows 11 may have used generic drivers during the upgrade.

3. Disable "Enhance Pointer Precision" and other smoothing features.

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse > Additional mouse settings

Under the Pointer Options tab, uncheck Enhance pointer precision

This avoids OS-level smoothing that can conflict with higher polling rates.

4. Switch USB ports. Plug the mouse directly into a rear I/O USB 3.0 or 3.2 port on your motherboard. Avoid front panel or USB hubs—some ports can’t handle high polling reliably under Windows 11.

5. Optional (if nothing else works): Roll back to Windows 10. You said you had no issues before the update. If the 4K/8K experience is critical to you and none of the above helps, reverting to Windows 10 might be worth considering—especially while Windows 11 continues maturing its high polling rate input handling.

Make sure that your GPU is being used and not the one on the chip.

Go to Windows settings, go to system and the. power and put it on high performance, this should force it to the GPU
