I can't connect to Xbox Live on my 360 titles despite having an active Gold membership

I am unable to connect to Xbox Live on my 360 games despite having an active Xbox Live Gold membership. Does the membership included with game pass ultimate not carry over to 360 titles anymore? I had no problems before I had to renew my game pass ultimate

Hello ZinnyHunter, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your connection.

Are you on a 360 or playing Backwards Compatible on the Xbox One? Please let me know any error codes or messages that you may be having.

In the meantime, if it's Xbox One try pressing the Start and Back buttons at the same time to bring up the 360 menu and delete your gamertag then re-add it using the same menu. Only do this while in a 360 Backwards Compatible game.

Hi Onyx thanks for the help. I had already tried deleting my profile and re-adding it again and that didn't work. However after I tried again just now after a few resets and leaving it for a while it appears to be working now. Thanks for the response I really appreciate it.

Be aware that you need an active Gold membership to play claimed Games with Gold titles.

While you "own" Xbox 360 titles forever, you "rent" Xbox One Games with Gold titles for as long as you have an active Gold membership.

If you don't have a Gold membership, you lose access to your Xbox One Games with Gold.

Its my understanding that the 360 games are yours to keep. Xbox One games must have an active membership to play.

Is it just an issue playing the 360 Games with Gold titles on your 360, or are you also having trouble claiming them in the first place?

When it comes to redeeming the games, I believe you need an active payment method / credit card on your account.
