    I can’t Configure/Update Firmware on Xbox One controller - HELP!


    So i’m trying to see if my Xbox One controller [Microsoft Xbox One Wireless Controller Ocean Shadow Special Edition] needs a firmware update because it has some connectivity issues on my computer.

    But when I go into the Xbox Accessories app and plug in my controller it won’t connect (Turn on) when I connect it via USB. If I connect through bluetooth it’ll say it’s connected but even though it’s plugged in it’ll say “This controller is connected via Bluetooth connect with a USB cable to configure it”

    I’m just lost because even though it’s plugged in i’m not getting the option to Configure it. And I have 5 prong micro usb cables and it still refuses to work. I’m guessing my last option is to use an actual Xbox but I don’t currently own one.

    Anyways any help with this would be very much appreciated

    Hello Spartan,

    Is there any updates on the accessories app being updated so that we can change controller configurations after updating the controller firmware on Xbox? It has rendered my elite series 2 nearly useless as I can’t remind my paddles and the Bluetooth doesn’t work. This is so frustrating I may return this new controller and go get something else. Please help or bring it up and let us know what’s going on.

    Controller Firmware Update - Messed up my controller?!?

    pretty much the same after that latest firmware update cuz I can’t find the original Xbox one controllers all I see on Amazon or in the Xbox store or the new ones with the share button in the middle of the controller and after that update it randomly disconnect then reconnects and the batteries in the back are brand new but when I plug the cord in it stays connected I reported that firmware update issue also hopefully they come out with a fix soon

    Hi,

    Perhaps this could be a configuration setting on your particular PC? Do you have a PC tower or a laptop? I ask this because this isn't something I'm aware of. My Xbox One controller is connected to my PC via USB cable, and as far as I'm aware, my controller
    comes on as soon as I boot into Windows. I don't have to press the Xbox button to turn on the controller manually.

    As for the Accessories update, this isn't a driver update, it's a firmware update that is a applied directly to the controller. Firmware updates can not be downgraded.
