    i can’t change privacy settings on xbox. com for windows 10. i can’t chat on online servers...


    ive been able to chat online in public servers for a while now on my xbox account (i play on windows 10). but now im muted and the game tells me that i need to do something for my privacy on my microsoft account. ive been trying everything and trying to change my xbox account privacy settings but every time i submit everything to “everyone” it doesnt change. it just goes back to the way it was. the “join pubic servers” option is set to “everyone” but i still cant chat in minecraft on public servers. i can join them but no one can see my chats and microsoft cant help me and only sends me links to websites that i already tried. all i want is to chat on minecraft and get it over with because i dont know what wrong because its not being specific of what i have to do for my microsoft account (to be able to chat online). and theres no reliable websites that could help me with this issue. i tried to verify that my account is not a childs account but i dont have a family setting because my family doesnt go on microsoft and my computer is the only thing i own for myself. im not sure what to do anymore and if ill be able to chat on minecraft anymore. please help i dont know what to do. all i want is to chat with my friends online on minecraft.

    I have Minecraft on my iPad. When I go to the servers section it tells me I have to enter my Xbox account. So I put it in, then it tells me I can’t access it cause I have to change my privacy and online safety settings. Only problem is i can’t find it.

    Can’t see chat and can’t change privacy settings

    You will need to try opening this link account.xbox.com in a different browser or device if possible. We have read that there were some gamers who couldn't open the page on Safari (we don't know why), so if that's what you have tried we suggest you try on another browser.

    Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. Sounds like the cross play is not enabled in settings, were you able to look at the
    privacy and online settings? We will give you the
    steps to change the exact ones for the cross platform use.





    1. You will go to the Xbox websiteand sign in.


    2. Click on privacy settings.


    3. Once in settings, under the picture see Privacy, Xbox One/Windows 10 online safety. Select the Xbox one/Windows 10 online safety.


    4. You will see you gamertag you are looking for one setting:


    5. The two you want to make sure say allow and everybody are:
      1. "you can play with people outside of Xbox live" set to allow


      2. Now click on privacy you are looking for one setting:

        "you can communicate outside of Xbox live with voice and text" set to allow
