I can't change my privacy and safety settings ??

I'm trying to play on a realm on minecraft. It tells me i can't play because of how my account is set up. When I try to change this in settings it tells me I'm a child account in a family however my birthdate on the account is over 18 and I'm not in a family therefore don't have a parent account to change these settings for me.

Kindly try and use a different browser then make sure that you're not part of a family via https://account.microsoft.com/family and your birthdate is correct via https://account.microsoft.com/profile.

Once confirmed, manage it by signing in to https://account.xbox.com/settings.

I've been trying to play online in The Master Chief Collection but I can't access my privacy settings. all the links I find lead to the same Xbox help page and I can't figure out how to do anything.

The first, most obvious question to ask: You aren't on a children's account correct? Or your account wasn't originally signed up while a minor? Just checking as that seems (from what I have observed on the forum) to be the most common reason for inability to access security and privacy settings
