    Hi Jay!

    Are you playing on Windows 10/11 machine or Xbox console? Which model?

    When was the last time you were able to control your chat mixer or mic monitoring?

    What's your headset make/model? I assume it's connected to the 3.5mm jack on your controller.

    Be sure to follow the troubleshooting steps from the link below like power cycling your controller, resetting to default, trying USB cable, updating controller on PC or via USB cable, etc.

    I can't hear myself with mic-monitoring

    Id love a response to this. im on 4 controllers (all official microsoft xb1 controllers) and three headsets (two turtle beach and one Microsoft stereo headset ) Console is up to date, a first gen controller up to date. A 2nd gen controller that i bought.
    And 2 brand new controllers that came with my one x.... All also with updated firmware. All headset functions work properly on all combos except for mic monitoring . Monitoring is on and set to 10. I can chat and hear game sound but cant hear myself through
    mic monitoring unless the mic is shoved down my throat. This is getting very frustrating for my household and friends I play with when i end up yelling. Please. Help.

    “You can also adjust your headset audio and mic monitoring by going to Settings and selecting Devices & Accessories.
    Select your controller and then select the audio option you want to use.”
    I might be wrong but doesnt mic monitoring just change how much you hear your own voice?

    Yeah Ghostly it's extremely irritating. I don't think the 3.5mm jack on the controller is the problem for me as the Xbox is responsive to changes in the mic monitoring volume settings. Obviously the controller works and the mic also works. Seems like a software/firmware
    issue to me...

    so far, every pair of headphones i have plugged into the controller have allowed mic monitoring, and you can directly control the mic monitoring volume via the side menu.
