I can't access my Xbox Accessories app

My D-pad on my controller won't work with my PC, I tried to use the Xbox Accessories app to update it and to change the controls back to normal, but every time I load up the app it's only active for a split second before instantly closing. I'm not sure if the app is broken and needs another update to fix it or if my PC just hates me at the moment, but no matter if I uninstall, refresh or restart my pc or even do all at once it still won't work, I've done it a few times and still nothing! is there another app or a way to get around this problem?

unfortunately it didn't work, I think I tried this a couple times before too.

Please, on your computer start bar, search for "Services.msc" and open it.

Scroll down to the bottom of the list and right-click the "Xbox Accessory Management Service"

Select Properties > On this window, change the initialization/startup type to Automatic.

Click OK and restart your computer.

I am experiencing the same issues as Phoxu (as well as some other connection problems using Bluetooth). But as I merely got the Elite Controller to use with

my PC I don't have access to an XBOX to downgrade the firmware. The Xbox Accessories PC App isn't functioning properly as many other users are complaining already (and as I experience it too ). The issue is that I cannot update my controller using the app (nor downgrade ) so my big question is

: Is there another way (without access to an XBOX), using a PC, to update/downgrade the XBOX Elite Controller ? I'd be happy to use the Xbox Accessories App, if it was working, but since I can't I need something else.

While it is possible to use a modified console to inject hack menus to a game on a Xbox 360, the Xbox One system and accessories would not be affected, as the game runs in a virtual sandbox which can't access system settings and accessories.

So your controller can't be "hacked".

Instead, I'd check the Xbox Accessories App, if there are buttons re-configured.

Or it might just be, that the third party controller is defective. In which case you would have to contact PowerA for more support here: https://www.powera.com/support/

Please try going to Settings, Accessories and test your controller for analog drift.

As you can't access the menu's you can download the xbox app and control without you controller. Then turn on your controller for the test 👍
