I can't access my profile and I'm the only person managing my account

Firstly, are you on a child account? (Microsoft automatically assign any account with the age set to below 21 years as a child account). If you're on a child account, you'll need a parent (adult) account in order to change your privacy settings.

Refer to the "Manage settings on Xbox.com" tab, underneath it you'll find how to manage your privacy settings on an Adult or Child account.

Are you still a minor? If so thise settings would only be visible from an adult account.

If you are now an adult, and your account is still a child, it needs upgrading to an adult account:

After you reach the age of adulthood (which varies by country and region), you can promote a child account to an adult account. This promotion removes the Family Settings and Xbox Live restrictions.

To promote a child account to an adult account

• Sign in to Xbox Live by using the account that you want to change.
• Go to Settings and then select Account.
• Select Promote Child Account.
  Note This option is available only if the date of birth for the account indicates that you have reached the age of adulthood (18 in the United Kingdom). The legal adult age varies by country and region. The age of an account owner is calculated
  by using the date of birth provided when the account was created. This date cannot be changed. If you entered an incorrect date of birth when you created the account, your only option is to create a new account using the correct date of birth.

This happens when your DOB on your account when it was originally setup was set to being under the age of majority (18 in most countries) and it is still under that age.

By law any account under the age of majority is required to be in a family as a child account.

There is no way to change this once it is entered in the Xbox system will see that DOB as the DOB for the account.

You are going to have to either put yourself back into the family you say you removed yourself from or create a new account with an adult account and add your account to that family.

i logged into my account on your first link it shows me and my son in two boxes i click on his profile to remove him it says i'm not the person that added him - the only option it shows on my profile is to remove myself from the family group is that what u mean (as i am logged in on my account) Wont he lose his consent to access stuff if remove myself from the family group?

Just to confirm, are you referring to someone having access to your account?

If so, It would be best to change the password so that the other person won't have access to it anymore. It should prompt the person to log in with the new password.
