I can't access Minecraft Realms on Xbox one S

I definitely understand your sentiments but kindly note that since you're in the forums, I'm just like an end user like you as well. Xbox live gold has been required to play online and if you only have game pass for console, you can only access game pass games offline.

Additionally, if you want to have an ability to play online and access game pass games at the same time, you can opt to get an upgrade to game pass Ultimate.

And also there's no info if this would be changed.

You would need to check your subscription by going through these steps:

Press Xbox button on your controller to open guide > Go to Profile & System tab > Settings > Account > Subscription.

If you can see game pass for console, please note that you need to have a separate Xbox Live Gold subscription which is required to play online.

If you can see game pass for Ultimate, you can try re-syncing your account into the console. Ensure that you know your Microsoft account and password before doing so and your console is connected to the internet.

-Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

-Profile & System > Settings > Account > Remove account

-Select the account that you want to remove, and then select "Remove" to confirm.

-Once done, select Close.

Then, you can restart your console > long-press Xbox button on the controller > Restart

Lastly, sign in to your account again by:

-Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

-Go to Sign in > Add new

Once done, try the game again.

So, yes I have to pay $6.99 extra a month to access the online portion of the game I paid for already. Ahh. I see. When you guys going to fix that by chance? $10 a month to access something I paid for already isn't enough?

Hey there! You're going to need to verify which version of Minecraft you have. There are two on the Xbox One that you could have.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is no longer supported. It's playable, but it can't be found in the Store and does not receive updates. This version of the game does not have Realms access.

Minecraft/Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition/Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (All just different names for the same game) is the version with Realms that are cross-compatible.

Java version (only available on PC) is not compatible with Xbox.

If your child's friend has the Realm set up on the correct version of Minecraft, you just need a Gold Subscription. Realm hosts pay the monthly fee to keep the Realm online. The friend will need to invite your friend/add them as a Realm member from their
Xbox or PC, then your child will receive a little envelope thing on their Minecraft menu. That is the Realm invitation. Once that's accepted, they should be able to join the Realm.
