    I cannot use my Microsoft balance to purchase ultimate during the $1 sale.


    I do have enough to pay for the taxes associated with a $1 purchase as the balance itself is from a $15 code. When I choose to purchase the upgrade the console asks me to input another method of payment to "pay for the rest". I already have a Gold subscription
    and am only seeking to participate in the $1 promotion deal.

    Since it starts a recurring subscription you either have to have a credit card/Paypal on file or enough funds in your account for the next payment as well, even if you plan on turning off auto-renewal.

    I previously purchased Game Pass Ultimate during the $1/month sale, and have since canceled it. Now I have a year's subscription to Xbox Live Gold. If I were to purchase a month of Game Pass Ultimate at the full $14.99 price, would my year of Live still

    Yes, account balance can be used to purchase game pass, i just purchased it today part of it was paid with a partial balance i had on my microsoft account and the rest was paid with my paypal account.
