I cannot regain control of my Xbox 1 account

I have been having issues with my Xbox 1. It has been coming up with ‘clear saved data & reset console’ and wouldn’t let me play any of my games until I done this. So I did this and when I had cleared my data i got given the option to ‘reset but keep everything
the same’ so I clicked on this and went through the reset process. After my Xbox had completed this I turned back on to find myself on a completely new account! with everything gone and completely erased. I have no games, no progress within games, no stuff
I purchased using a code, no game clips, no friends list, no gigabytes, no messages, no access to anything online, absolutely nothing every little breadcrumb has been erased off my Xbox. I then tried to go to the ‘add new’ section and re-add my account back
onto my Xbox however I don’t have any access at all with email address that I set my original account up with so I can’t receive the security codes that have been sent to it. I do however believe that I know the email address and password for the account but
as I said I just can’t access it. Is there anyway that someone can help me to regain my account?

There is a Microsoft account that is part of my Xbox One family and it controls the access privileges of my account. However, I can't find the email address or password associated with that account (I have the gamertag). Is there any way I can regain access
to that account to change the access privileges on my account?

 

E-mail linked to Gamertag blocked by Mircosoft and they will not unblock. I need to remove/change the linked e-mail account.

To change the Microsoft Account and get a new one linked to your Gamertag, you have to regain control of the old Microsoft Account, and there's no way around that.



However, if you were hacked, then call Xbox LIVE support at 1-800-469-9269 Option 2 and they can help get your account back.

You can update your security proof (where your verification codes are sent to) as long as you know your email and password for your account by going to account.live.com and signing in there and trying to do anything that would require a code like changing
the password.

This will however for security purposes put a 30 day hold on your account so that you will not be able to do anything that requires a security proof till the new security proof is updated after the 30 days.

 

If you know your email and password for your original account, try to sign in to
Sign in to your Microsoft account

There update your security proofs of your account. Ideally enable Two Step Verification and set up a free Authenticator App on your Smartphone.

Be aware, that if you used a third party email for your Microsoft Account (like Gmail, Yahoo or some other email provider besides Microsoft's services like Outlook, Hotmail or Live.com) that your Microsoft Account username is simply a string of characters
that looks like an email address, and is not connected to your inaccessible email (besides the fact, that the service tries to send you a confirmation code to that email).

Try to recover that old email as well, or if you are able to sign in to the Proofs website linked above, add your new emails, and ideally your phone number(s) as well.

The more security proofs in the form of additional emails or phone numbers (e.g. landline phone and cellphone) you have, the less likely it is to be locked out of your account, when you can't access a specific security proof anymore.
