I cannot install Minecraft that I just purchased. Error Code: 0x80242020

The solution is to ensure the default 'Xbox PC app storage location' is the same as the regular App storage location.

Windows 10 --> Windows-Key --> System --> Storage --> Change where new content is stored --> change "New apps be save to" the drive that you want.

Xbox App (PC) --> Your Xbox Gamer Icon (near top right) --> Settings --> General --> Change where this app installs games by default.

I have the same problem. When trying to download Sea of Thieves for the PC, I either get the error code 0x80242020, or it just allocates disc space indefinitely. Would appreciate some help..

I first tried to install another game, in this case roblox and recieved the error code 0x80242020, I tried another game and recieved the error code 0x00000001 instead. I attempted to find 0x80242020 in the official microsoft error code support section as well and could not find it. Both games I tried only got past the "preparing" part of the install before giving me an error code.





Something that may be of importance is that I originally tried installing fallout 76 to my laptop before where I originally recieved the error code 0x80073d0d, then I tried to see if installing it on my computer would work and I recieved the error code 0x800073d0d. I recently tried downloading the game using the computer and it worked and did not end up giving me an error code but when I tried to plug the external storage device into my laptop I then recieved the code error code 0x800073d0d after trying to install the game on the laptop. I tried to install the game again on that laptop because most of the time if you already have the game files downloaded xbox app will just look for those files and verify that they are all correct allowing you to play the game.

I am going to attempt to download the game to my C: drive instead and see if that works.

Hello PaiMei, before you try the solution below. have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10.
