I cannot hear anyone or talk to anybody on Fortnite

Is this happening only of Fortnite?

Let us review if all these options are enabled by checking your account privacy settings.

Please, enter this site: https://account.xbox.com/settings

On the Privacy Tab options:

"See other people's Xbox Live profiles" > Set it to either Everyone or Friends

"You can see and upload community creations" > Set it to either Everyone or Friends

"You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text" > Set it to Allow

Click Submit.

Then, switch over to the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab.

Set the options bellow to Allow:

"You can play with people outside of Xbox Live"

"You can join multiplayer games"

"You can add friends"

Don't forget to click on "Submit" to save the settings.

Hello it could be that you need to change your privacy settings to allow you to be in "game chat" however if you start an xbox party and then switch to game chat this may solve your issue as an idea

Could you tell me if anyone solved this problem?

I can not talk with anybody on fortnite..

I understand that you are experiencing issues with party chat.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please check Xbox Privacy & Online Safety Settings because audio communication may be restricted by your account settings. To do this, go to Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety > Xbox Privacy. Select View Details & Customize > Communication & Multiplayer.

Make sure that the following options are set to Allow:

1.You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text.

2.Others can communicate with you.

And then test your network settings by going to Settings > General > Network Settings and run Test Network Connection.

If NAT type shows as Strict or Moderate, it is blocking party or game chat.

Kindly restart your router and enable UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) in your router's admin settings.

Next is to sync and update Xbox wireless headset. To do this, connect the headset to a PC with the Xbox Accessories App installed and update it there.

Then check audio settings. Make sure that the audio settings are configured correctly. Go to Settings > General > Volume & Audio Output.

Under Chat Mixer, set it to Balanced.

After that is reset alternate MAC address.Please go to Settings > General > Network Settings > Advanced Settings. Select Alternate MAC Address > Clear.

Restart your console and test party/game chat again.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly test headset on another device because this can help determine if the issue is hardware-specific or related to your console/account.

i just cannot work out why i cannot hear anyone talking. Love the game but some players just seem to play deathmatch.
