Do Not pull the power lead out of the Xbox.

Hi there, with the Xbox powered on press and hold the power button on the Xbox for ten seconds, when the Xbox powers off pull the power cable out of the Xbox and leave it out for a couple of minutes. Reconnect the power cable and power the Xbox on again
using the power button on the Xbox and give things a try.

More often than not it's difficult to actually get to the plug and turn that off etc depending on the wiring layout involved. Removing the cable from the Xbox is much easier and will not harm anything.

I guess it comes down to how you interpret the following.

Disconnect and reconnect your console's power cable

1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
   Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
   
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

I cannot access my settings. Getting an error code when I go to open settings. Mircorosft said do a low res start up and it didnt work so now im stuck in low res becuase I cant open my settings! Can I get back to hi res without going to settings?
