    I cannot figure out what setting is causing my Minecraft chat to not send messages.


    After some research and changing my settings, I still can't chat in-game. Both my x-box live settings and Minecraft chat settings are changed to allow it. I don't have a Microsoft family set up. I re-installed my launcher through the Microsoft shop, logged out and back into both the launcher and Microsoft — nothing. Is it a bug at this point? Most forums I could find with this issue seemed like dead ends.

    Thank you for your help, but unfortunately that didn't work for me. Should I post on Mojang's forums or contact them directly?

    Hi DianaDolly, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    Can you please validate by signing in to https://account.xbox.com/settings, if the setting that has an arrow in this screenshot is already on "allow" or "everyone"?

    Once confirmed, you may need to reach out to Mojang so they can check your in-game account.

    Update: I figured out that I am able to use my headset to give commands to Cortana. So what is preventing me from using my mic in a party chat or to send voice messages?

    Minecraft "chat disabled by account settings. cannot send message"

    Okay. Then it might be linked to the outage. Let's wait while it's resolved and hopefully that addresses the issue. Another option will be to reach out to Minecraft support so see if they can help as well.
