    I cannot change my profile region on Xbox Live.


    Hello,

    I am currently attempting to change my gamertag, and once I get to payment processing, I am required to change my profile address.

    Everything goes fine until I reach the region change section, where the dropdown menu is greyed out.

    I live in Canada, not the United States. Because of this, I cannot change my gamertag.

    I have double-checked that my billing and Microsoft account addresses are accurate. Why can I not change this?

    Edit: The suggestions regarding changing the region via windows and on my billing information have not worked, and the conditions that would bar me from doing so do not apply to me. I attempted to contact customer service, and they could not fix the problem.
    They closed my question saying they would refer me to a specialist, but no such thing has happened.

    Attempting to connect with a specialist resulted in a 404 error code.

    On the far bottom left hand side of the gamertag website, change the region to Canada. That page likes to open to US by default.
    Oh thank goodness, this did the trick. What a horrible UI decision THAT is. Thanks much!

    Try changing first the Region:

    and then the GamerTag
    I've tried this. My region on Windows is set properly, including my billing address. I do not own an Xbox, but am playing on Games for Windows on PC, using an older Xbox Live account that I used to have up until 2011.

    Also, none of these conditions apply to me:

    • You changed the country or region within the last three months.
    • Your account is suspended. For example, the credit card on a subscription has expired, or your subscription has a balance due.
    • You’re legally a minor in your current country or region and won’t be a minor in the new region, or vice-versa.
    Nothing on that page has helped me so far.
