Xbox One Live account, Change from Child to Adult

Nephew and me want to play Fortnite together Cross-Platform but I have diagnosed that the reason we can't is because his account was created as a Child's account.

This is fine, but for some reason Fortnite will not allow me and him to play together.

My other nephew and me can play because his account is not a child's account.

I want to change his account from a child account to a adult's account if that is what I have to do.

Otherwise, why is this restriction a thing? Is there any other way I can go about fixing this?

To be a little more specific the, "cross platform" option in Fortnite's menu does not show up on his game while on my other nephew's account it shows up. I have done all the necessary Fortnite cross platform connecting on the EPIC account. The only issue
is that the Microsoft Xbox Live account was created as a child's account so Epic Games recognizes that and says that he cannot play with PC cross platform so the EPIC account options like the friends list etc just are not there for only his account which is
the only one I made as a child's account. Making a new account isn't an option unless I want to rebuy all his games but that isn't obviously an option.

Some games that are xbox playanywhere can be played on a PC. xbox playanywhere some of those games also support cross play for example Gears Of war 4 supports cross play in non competive modes

Just depends on the game but you can check the windows 10 store for info if a game is cross play

Xbox Play anywhere games share the same save with the Xbox One. Some games that are not do that as well. One example is Quantum Break. That game shares the same save, but is not a play anywhere game. It just depends on the game if it supports cross
save or not. Usually if the game shares the same save, then it also shares the same achievement list too.

I do not think you can cross play with yourself. *since you can not join yourself off friends or send yourself a invite* HOWEVER you can set the account with the game as HOME for your xbox then make a sub account to share and then cross play. It might
be a bit extra work but you still only nee to buy it once and would be able to play with each other.

Hello as stated it depends what the code was for. Is it for a game? Is it for an add on? Was it redeemed on a different gamertag on you Xbox account? If so then if you select that console as home console you should be able to share game if it was a game...and
add on depending if it can be shared. Some add ons can be shared through accounts but not all. Please give us some more answers so we can help you further.

I think you mean cross buy like sharing purchases

All cod games are cross play meaning you can play with others on other platforms

And no you can't refund because you are far beyond any reasonable return period which is 14days or 2hours of gameplay
