I can not transfer licenses when I still have them

to go with my profile and give the license transfer appears appears to continue to transfer them but I give and I get a message that says "that an error has occurred"

@WhiteLotusFists - You would have had to do a license transfer when you redownloaded the games in order for them to work offline for you. If you can connect it to the Internet you might still be able to do the license transfer to fix the issue.

@Mr. Valentine - No. The transfer cable is not set up to function that way.

license transfer question

I got my kids a 360 for their birthday. Over the years I've downloaded several games for them with my account. I hit license transfer and to put them on theirs not thinking it through. Will the others still be licensed to mineif I connect to live? When exactly does Xbox live change it when you select the transfer and the redownload just lets the 360 know, or does the redownload itself change it?

You can transfer content licences from one console to another once every four months.

If your console was recently repaired, or if you’ve purchased a new console, use the licence transfer option on your console to transfer content licences. Here’s how:

On your console, sign in to Xbox Live using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.

Go to the Settings and then select Account.

Go to Your Billing Options, and then select Licence Transfer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer the content licences.

After the licences have been transferred, you need to download the content again to update the local licences. This way the content can be used by other profiles on your console and when you’re not connected to Xbox Live.

It sounds like you will have to wait until December to transfer your licenses. In the meantime you can still download all your DLC to your Xbox and as long as you are connected to Xbox live when playing your games, then your licenses will still work for
you until you transfer them over.

Yup. There's 2 parts to the license transfer. The 1st part transfers the licenses. The 2nd part is redownloading them. It should have pulled up your purchase history and had you redownload them when you did the license transfer.

When you purchase content it's tied to the gamertag that purchased it as well as the console it was purchased on. When you use a different console, the content will only work for that gamertag while it's signed into Live because the license is still connected
to the other console. The license transfer will transfer the licenses from the original console to the new console.

If you're planning on continuing to use both consoles, you'd have to either leave the license on the original console or move them completely to the new console.
