I can not open AoE II: Definitive Edition through microsoft store; i bought it a few years...

If you can't see it, make sure you choose the "All Available" filter and that you're logged into the correct account.

Resetting both the Microsoft Store and Xbox (beta) app didn't change anything. When I re-opened the app it still shows AoE II trying to install/update at 3% with no bytes being downloaded into it.

The game Age of Empires: Definitive Collection on Microsoft Store is for PC and Xbox since the edition includes Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition but you'll need an Xbox profile since you will be purchasing it through Microsoft Store and will be playing it through Xbox Live services.

You will not need cloud gaming or streaming. Once you purchase it through Microsoft Store you can install and play the game on your PC, you'll need to log in using your Microsoft Account.

To download or update the game in the Microsoft Store:

Press your Windows Key and search for “Store” or “Microsoft Store” to find and open the app.

Make sure you are signed in with the account that owns Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.

Click on Library in the lower left hand corner of the Store.

Select Games.

Press the Get updates button to automatically detect, download, and install the latest changes to your game!

Let the Store download Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.

Once your download is complete, you will be able to search for your game in the Windows Start menu or listed under My Library in the Microsoft Store. You can also create a shortcut to access and launch the game from anywhere on your computer.

So I just saw on the Forgotten Empires facebook page that AoE 2 is now available on GP for PC, I'm already downloading it. What do you think?, Honestly I'm super excited, aoe II was one of my favorite games 20 years ago, I enjoyed the HD edition
that was unofficially released (then become official) and this new game looks super awesome.

It's definitely one of the major blindspots from my gaming history, I don't think I've ever tried or at least ever put in significant time into an AoE title. I think I'll have to change that by giving this version a real chance.
