    I can hear myself through my Xbox one headset.


    This morning I fired up my Xbox One console to play with my friends, and then when I loaded in game, I could hear my friends, but I could also hear my own voice. And I am NOT talking about Echo. My friends could not hear me. Whatever the mic heard, it was
    putting in my ear, and not sending it to my friends. I have multiple headsets, each one did the same thing: putting the audio it heard to my ear. These headsets all have a 3.5 mm audio jack which I am plugging into the jack on my controller, I am not using
    an adapter to convert to 3.5 mm Jack.

    Anyone even care to help? Thanks!

    maybe you have turned on mic monitoring `?

    this is a feature that you can hear yourself when u use a headset. without this most people begin to talk to loud with headset..

    I have the exact same problem when i tried playing today. I can hear everything and everyone, including myself. But no one can hear me.

    Tried different headset, one with 3,5mmjack and the small one from xbox it self, same result.

    Tried my old controller same thing.

    Tried the headset in my sons nintendo switch, works like a charm.

    Tried to use my mic in partychat multiplayer( without anyone listening) like the troubleshooter says, seems to be working.

    I realy think its something with the software rather than the hardware. Btw all updates are done...

    Headset is 3months old as is my elite controller...

    I get this some times when there is a break in the cable or a slight disconnection in jack. Please try removing and replacing the headset back into the jack and if it continues try a different controller or a different headset to trouble shoot this issue.
    I only have 1 controller, and I already tried 3 headsets and they all did it.
