I can hear but I can’t speak

Discus and support I can hear but I can’t speak in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I’m having problems with being able to speak to anyone on my xbox one.     I can hear but I can’t speak


    I’m having problems with being able to speak to anyone on my xbox one. I’ve tried two controllers to see if my controller is at fault, which it is not. My mic deffo works because i’ve used it to phone someone. I feel like ive tried everything,
    from resetting my whole xbox, going through accessories to reading loads of threads and following all advice. I have no idea what has happened but it hasn’t been working ever since the update (13/12/19). Can someone pleeeeeease help???

    If you've followed all the troubleshooting steps in the support page but your chat headset still doesn't work, your controller may need to be replaced. Find out more about
    ordering a replacement Xbox controller.

    I can’t talk to anyone on any game.

    Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, this didn’t work. Nobody can’t hear me when I speak but I can hear everyone.

    Hello,

    You'll need to give a little bit more information than that. Is this a wired headset or a wireless headset? Have you tried plugging the headset into a different controller to see if that fixes the issue?

    Have you looked to see if the headsets mute button isn't pushed? (That's the most common issue in situations like this).

    Have you checked your preferences to make sure that everything is set correctly? You can do that by pushing the middle button on your Xbox 360 Controller and going to Settings > Preferences > Voice > Make sure that the settings in there along with the volume
    sliders are up.

    I can’t hear my game sounds and Xbox notifications when I have a headset on but can hear and talk on party chat fine?

    All sliders up to max and can’t hear Xbox notifications or pings but can hear and speak on game chat perfectly

    Make sure you haven't accidentally turned off the Headset Mic in the audio mixer on your actual Xbox. (Shown at the top of the picture)
