    I can hear audio with headset but I can’t speak(headset isn’t the problem)


    Yesterday i turned on my xbox and i found myself unable to talk through the mic but able to hear sound and other people. I tried the headset with another controller and it wroked fine. How do i resolve this issue? Anu help is much appreciated.

    Other suggestions would be making sure it has fresh batteries or doing a hard reset which involves holding the power button on the console for ten seconds. Not sure if the audio settings can be different on another controller, but check in audio settings
    and make sure the mic is "On" when headset is connected to the controller in question.

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues Xbox wireless headset. First, please make sure that you disconnect it from other device such as your phone or PC. If you’re experiencing audio issues where you can’t hear or others can’t hear you, first check the headset’s volume, balance, and mute settings:

    1. The headset volume is controlled by turning the dial on the outside of the right earcup. Be sure the headset volume isn’t turned all the way down.

    2. The dial on the outside of the left earcup adjusts the audio balance between game and chat audio. Be sure the dial isn’t rotated completely in one direction, as this will effectively mute either game or chat audio.

    3. Be sure your headset mic isn’t muted (when muted, the light at the end of the mic will switch off). The headset’s mute button is located on the back end of the mic attachment, on the bottom of the left earcup.

    If none of these settings is causing the audio issue, check the headset settings in the Xbox Accessories app. On Xbox X|S and Xbox One consoles, you can access the Accessories app in the Settings menu: Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.

    Hello There ! Please follow the steps bellow to troubleshoot the issue :

    Can’t hear: If you’re not getting any sound in your headset, first make sure that the headset is powered on, the volume is turned up, and the audio balance dial is not turned completely in one direction. Go into headset settings and check the audio levels in the Equalizer. If that doesn’t fix the problem, restart both devices, check your connection, and see if a firmware update is available.

    Mic issues: If your friends can’t hear you, first make sure that your mic isn’t muted, then check in headset settings that Auto-mute is not set to High. If that doesn’t fix the problem, restart both devices, and check to see if a firmware update is available for your headset.

    Distortion or buzzing: If you’re hearing unexpected sounds in the headset, first exit to your console or device’s Home screen to see if the sounds are coming specifically from the game. You should also check to see if there’s a firmware update available. If this doesn’t correct the problem, try restarting both devices.

    Party audio problems: If you’re experiencing audio issues while in a multiplayer game or party chat, first try exiting and rejoining the game or chat. If that doesn’t work, restart both devices, and check that your network connection is stable. If none of these steps corrects the problem, perform a hard reset of the headset.
