i bought the Destiny: The Taken King addon

Yes, in order to play the Destiny: The Taken King add-on, you will need to have the full game of Destiny. The add-on is not a standalone game and requires the base game to be installed on your console.

If you bought Destiny: The Taken King it only include the DLC but you will need the base game to play it. If you buy Destiny: The Taken King - Legendary Edition, it will include the base game and the expansion.

I originally had bought Destiny: The Taken King Legendary edition when it released on Xbox 360. I then upgraded to Xbox One, and I bought a pre owned copy of Destiny: the taken King Legendary Edition. It did not come with a code. My original Xbox 360 copy
did, and i redeemed it then. I still am unable to buy the new expansion.

doesnt destiny the taken king come with: destiny, expansion 1 and 2 and the taken king for 60$?
