i bought minecraft java but i can only play windows edition

I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?

I'm having the same problem as E.J Paras but as i bought my minecraft account when you had to buy it from mojang it seems logical to me that there isnt any transiction in microsoft payments. I bought minecraft java edition but I can only play minecraft for windows now.

I had the same problem,it says i can t play java beacuse i play minecraft windows edition through family sharing,but like 4 months ago it works,i had java and windows edition(i bought Win edition from 2019),and now i don t get what the problem is

You only bought Minecraft for Windows and the launcher, there's nothing there saying you bought Java Edition. Hope that helps!
